Somatic Experiencing Training in Progress
Leigh has been studying and working in the wellness space for over 25 years. Much of that time has been focused on women’s yoga, goddess circles, reproductive and pelvic care, devotional practices, birthing and raising her three children, and spending time with the Great Mother in the wild places.
Professionally trained in womens pelvic care, Leigh offers nurturing touch to the pelvic bowl, both internally (intravaginal) and externally. She employs Holistic Pelvic Care™, a gentle intravaginal technique that focuses on visualization and energy clearing, as well as tissue-specific, results driven manual therapy. Pelvic Bodywork, especially combined with Somatic Experiencing training in trauma release, is effective for pain, postpartum healing, child loss, and many other painful experiences or physical conditions. It is a great adjunct to Pelvic Floor PT.
In addition, with advanced training in prenatal and postpartum massage, Leigh provides compassionate, effective bodywork for the intense physical changes during pregnancy, birth, and recovery.
Using her trauma training and her own lived experience of multiple injuries and surgeries, Leigh also serves postoperative recovery in landing back in the body after the shock and pain has lifted us out. Often, our tissues and nervous system need help in realizing they are safe. Oncology treatment, in all stages, is a field she is also experienced in.
Leigh was raised in Upstate New York among the lakes of the Adirondacks. She lived at Kriplau Center for Yoga and Health after college, working in the kitchen and training, and then moved to Boulder, CO, where she attended massage school, apprenticed with a master Hatha Yoga teacher in Womens Yoga, met her husband, and started her family. She has three children, all born at home under the care of a midwife. She has six published romance novels and has lived in Bozeman since 2016.
With a deep reverence for the Wild Feminine, Leigh has dedicated her personal and professional life to serving women. She leads Bozeman Womens Temple, First Moon Circles (for girls entering menarche), attends retreats with her teacher Chameli Ardagh. and continues daily to deepen her relationship with the Great Mother.
When away from her work, she can usually be found driving kids around town, helping her teen get through high school, doing laundry, carving out time with her husband of 20 years and planning their next mountain adventure. She loves to hike, backpack, paddle, sail, camp, and explore. Despite her (somewhat) best efforts, she is not a competitive, distance, or hardcore mountain athlete. Just a lady who freaks out over wildflowers and foliage and mountain meadows.
